Professor Stein graduated with an A.B. in Mathematics from Harvard College in 1983, and she received the Ph.D. in Mathematics from Cornell University in 1991. She taught for three years at the Ohio State University and spent one year on a NATO-NSF fellowship at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universitat in Frankfurt, Germany before coming to Trinity in 1995.
Professor Stein’s goal in teaching is to help her students learn to think clearly and logically and to enable them to experience the beauty of mathematics. The small class size setting at Trinity complements her teaching style; she especially enjoys working with students one-on-one.
