Michael DeCesare, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Chair Ph.D., Sociology, interests are social movements, education, research methods, and teaching and learning. He is a co-editor, with Ieva Zake, of New Directions in Sociology: Essays on Theory and Methodology in the 21st Century (McFarland, 2011) and the author of A Discipline Divided: Sociology in American High Schools (Lexington, 2007). His articles and reviews have appeared in a variety of scholarly journals. Dr. DeCesare is the president of the Merrimack College Chapter of the AAUP.
