Bio/Research

Professor Michelle Giroux is a specialist in bioethics and family law. She teaches the law of persons and family and bioethics. It also provides courses in the doctoral program in Population Health at the University of Ottawa. She is the recipient of a scholarship awarded by the reorientation of Foundation Services Research Foundation (CHSRF / CHSRF), which aims to develop multidisciplinary expertise and knowledge transfer in the field of health. His research focuses on patient safety and care at home, on topics related to assisted reproduction (including the fundamental right to know their origins and surrogacy). It also works on several topics of medical law.

Michelle Giroux is a member of the committee of legal experts appointed by the Government of Quebec to study the implementation of the recommendations of the Special Commission of the National Assembly of Quebec on the issue of dying with dignity.
