Bio/Research
The major focus of Dr. Potter’s research is on inborn errors of metabolism. This encompasses basic and clinical research in the treatment of these disorders and the development of diagnostic tests.
Dr. Potter’s basic research, in collaboration with Dr. Harald Stöver and Dr. Gonzalo Hortelano, centres on using implanted microencapsules containing engineered cells for medical therapeutic applications (see Microencapsulation Gene Therapy).
Dr. Potter’s clinical research encompasses the development of new/improved diagnostic and monitoring tests for inborn errors of metabolism as well as clinical trials testing new therapies for inborn errors of metabolism.
