Bio/Research

Nancy Curran received a Diploma in piano and harpsichord performance from the Hartford Conservatory. She teaches piano and harpsichord at Trinity College where she is also the Instrumental Ensembles Coordinator. She has served on the faculty of St. Joseph's College and the Hartford Conservatory. She teaches at Music and Arts and also maintains a private studio in West Hartford.

She has been the recipient of many scholarships and awards and was a finalist in the Bodky Competition for Early Music and the Wilfred Laurier University Baroque and Classical Concerto Competition. She was the founder and co-director of Collage Antiqua and Connecticut Chamber Music Baroque Ensemble. Ms. Curran has been guest soloist with numerous groups including the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, and the Wethersfield Community Orchestra. She has performed with the Hartford Chamber Orchestra, Manchester Symphony, and Nutmeg Symphony. She performs regularly with the chamber ensemble "Musical Friends".

Ms. Curran has taught master classes for students at the Center for Creative Youth, New Britain Gifted and Talented program, Connecticut State Music Teachers Association, and the Watkinson School.

Ms. Curran has studied piano pedagogy with Maurice Hinson. Her studies on harpsichord and fortepiano have been with such luminaries as Igor Kipnis, Malcolm Bilson, Denise Restout, Colin Tilney, and Mireille Lagace. She has studied at the graduate level at Westminster Choir College, Aston Magna Academy at Rutgers, Willfred Laurier University and Cornell University.

Ms. Curran is a member of the Musical Club of Hartford, and the Connecticut State Music Teacher's Association.
