I received my PhD in 2011 from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, under the supervision of Professor S.D. Bulman-Fleming (Wilfrid Laurier University) and Professor Q. Mushtaq (Quaid-i-Azam University). From 2011 to 2014 I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Tartu, Estonia. During 2013/14, I also worked at the Department of Pure Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics, University of Waterloo as a visiting researcher.
Prior to joining Laurier, I worked as a term assistant professor for the winter 2015 term at Cape Breton University, Sydney, Nova Scotia.
I am studying different types of morphisms (particularly, epimorphisms), factorization systems, amalgamation, and congruence, quasiorder and representation extension properties in the categories of ordered algebraic structures. Because, for the unordered algebras, congruence extension, amalgamation and surjectivity of epimorphisms are intimately related with the deduction, interpolation and Beth definability properties, I am also interested in investigating the connections of the ordered versions of these properties with the mathematical logic. I also study the amalgamation and related properties, such as flatness of S-posts, for ordered semigroups, groups and monoids.
