Nicholas Borst, research associate and China program manager, has been with the Institute since 2011. He previously worked as a consultant at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). His experience also includes economic research and analysis at the US Department of Treasury.
He speaks and reads Chinese and lived and worked in China for over two years. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona, where he earned his BA in political science and international studies. His articles on international economics have been published by the US-Korea Institute and the Japan Foundation, and his research has been cited by the Washington Post, the Financial Times, and the New York Times.
