Bio/Research

Patricia Lambert is an academic expert arts management, cultural policy, arts and cultural leadership, and the arts in healthcare. At the University of Oregon, she is a professor in the School of Planning, Public Policy and Management as well as the director of Graduate Certificate in Arts Management. Her research lies at the intersection of the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and engages four interrelated thematic areas: arts administration education, international cultural policy, regional cultural planning and development, and arts in healthcare.
Patricia can provide expertise on how COVID-19 is impacting artists and arts organization around the country, and how they are adapting. She can also speak to the importance of art in healthcare, such as art therapy, and how it could help those in isolation.

Her current scholarship focuses on arts in healthcare management, education in international arts/cultural management, and public policy and governance matters associated with the Pacific Northwest Economic Region; a number of journal articles and invited book chapters are forthcoming on these topics. From 2019 to 2021 she is also working on a co-authored book titled Arts Education and Cultural Engagement for Creative Aging, under contract with Oxford University Press.
