An MD graduate of Western University, Dr. Cooper continued his education at the same institution and completed his residency in neurology. Following his residency training, Dr. Cooper undertook a research fellowship from Harvard Medical School at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He returned to the London Health Sciences Centre in 1981 and was the former director of the neurology residency-training program.
He is currently Associate Professor of Neurology in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences and Senior Medical Director for Clinical Neurological Sciences at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care. Dr. Cooper has been recognized for his remarkable teaching contributions and was the recipient of the Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in teaching by Western University in 1981.
Dr. Cooper's research includes trials of new medication and treatment in the area of Neuroendocrinology and Headache.
