Prior to entering academia, Paul Sherman trained and worked as a clinician and senior administrator in community mental health settings for over 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from York University in Toronto, his postgraduate diploma in child assessment and counselling from the University of Toronto, and his PhD in Education and Social Justice from Lancaster University, U.K. His doctoral research focused on the cultivation of global citizenship identity and engagement in higher education.
