Wald is the Fred Friendly Professor of Journalism, and he teaches a national affairs seminar. He has broad experience in both print and television news. He was president of NBC News; senior vice president (and continues to consult) for ABC News. Before that, he worked in newspapers, including serving as managing editor of the New York Herald Tribune and assistant managing editor for The Washington Post.
