Bio/Research

Dr. Rita Kiki Edozie is an Associate Professor of International Relations at Michigan State University’s James Madison College of Public Affairs and Director of African American and African Studies (AAAS) in the College of Arts and Letters. Lilly Teaching Fellow 2007-8 and CIC-Academic Leadership Fellow, 2011-12. PhD in Political Science, the New School for Social Research, New York City (1999). Author, co-author, editor of three books and two forthcoming manuscripts, including The African Union's Africa: Pan African Identity, Pax Africana Security, Global Governance and African Owned Development (Michigan State University Press, forthcoming); and single author of fifteen journal articles/book chapters in comparative politics of Africa, global development and democratization, including “The Sixth Zone, the Diaspora and AU Global Era Pan Africanism” in Journal of African American Studies (Nov, 2011).
