Bio/Research

I am currently engaged in two main areas of research. The first is a book on Jesus' parable of the leaven (Holy Contagion. The Parable of the Leaven in Matthew’s Gospel), offering a detailed treatment of the parable and its history of interpretation in the first gospel. The second is several articles relating to the place of the mysteries of Dionysus in Greco-Roman religion and their relation to the Jews of the diaspora.
