Dr. Milhausen's research interests include gender and sexuality, sexual problems and the experience of sexual pleasure, sexual and relationship satisfaction in couples, and condom use errors and problems. She supervises PhD and MSc students and created The Undergraduate Research Group in Sexuality (URGiS) to foster a love of research among students early in their university careers.
Milhausen completed her PhD in applied health science at Indiana University. Her dissertation research focused on factors that inhibit and enhance sexual arousal in men and women. She completed two post-doctoral fellowships, the first at Emory University in the Rollins School of Public Health and the second at the University of Windsor in the Social Justice and Sexual Health Research Lab.
