Dr. Moorehead investigates the mechanisms of breast and lung cancer initiation and progression using transgenic and knockout mouse models as well as a murine and human tumour cell lines. More specifically, his lab explores 1) how signaling via tyrosine kinase receptors mediates tumor development; 2) the impact of microRNAs on tumor growth and metastasis; and 3) whether dietary soy can protect against mammary tumor development.
