Bio/Research

Dr. Ruth Rees is a Professor in the Faculty of Education. She coordinates leadership programs for school boards (for Ontario and internationally), and delivers the Ontario College of Teachers’ approved Principals’ Qualifications Program to aspiring principals (again, from schools within Ontario, Canada, or abroad). Her work experience includes involvement in leadership programs as far away as China and Africa.

Dr. Rees was the past chair of the University-wide Council on Employment Equity, with an objective of accommodating and improving accessibility for everyone at Queen's. She firmly believes that equity should be everyone's business, in everyone's job description, with appropriate accountability and monitoring. She has seen many positive changes occur in Queen's over the years, and continues to be active in achieving true equity in both education AND employment at Queen's through its policies as well as its practices.
