Bio/Research

Professor Guggenmos’ research focuses on how biases in human behavior affect manager and auditor judgments and financial statements users’ decision processes. Professor Guggenmos currently teaches managerial accounting and reporting at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Guggenmos received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his B.A. from Seattle University. He has been the recipient of many awards, including a Research Advisory Board grant from the Center for Audit Quality. In addition, he is a two-time winner of the Eugene M. Isenberg Scholar Award (University of Massachusetts). Guggenmos is a Certified Public Accountant, and, prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as an auditor with Deloitte and Touche, LLP.
