I studied Computer Vision and Robotics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As a graduate student, I became interested in Earth’s sustainability and therefore joined the Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences department as a post-doc. I continue as a Principal Research Scientist.

My research has made contributions in the areas of Mesoscale data Assimilation, storm tracking, animal biometrics, quantifying hurricane risk and experimental fluid dynamics. I have also served as a board member for Sustainable-step New England (2000-2002) and remain deeply committed to sustainability science and engineering.
