Bio/Research

Sarah Duni is an experienced and passionate educator at both the college and university level. She earned her Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Policy Studies at Ryerson University where her dissertation focused on food security and the role of the non-profit sector in advocating for a national food policy in Canada. Duni earned her Master of Social Work and Honours Bachelor of Social Work from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber, Duni worked in a variety of capacities in the social service sector as well as in academic institutions. She has worked for the United Way’s Action for Neighbourhood Change (ANC) initiative in Toronto and prior to that at the Community and Legal Aid Services Programme (CLASP) at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Duni currently serves on various academic and community committees and is also the co-editor of the Ryerson Journal of Policy Studies at Ryerson University. Duni is committed to preparing today’s students for the workforce as is reflected in her efforts to assist students in identifying and critically analyzing relevant issues. She also works to prepare them to effectively navigate moral, ethical, clinical, social and political issues as they emerge in the classroom, field practicums and their everyday lives.
