Professor Steinschneider's research focuses on the intersection between anthropogenic, hydrologic, and climatic systems with an emphasis on water resources risk management. The broad goal of this research is to provide decision-centric information for the sustainable design and management of integrated water resource systems under an array of deeply uncertain future conditions. Current research interests encompass three principal focus areas, including 1) water resource systems planning and management under hydroclimatic variability and change, 2) uncertainty analysis in watershed modeling and the implications for decision-making, and 3) the evolution of hydrologic systems under anthropogenic impacts.
