Bio/Research

Prof. Kelly is fascinated by rurally located places of destination whether they are premised on an area’s significant natural heritage, unique settlement pattern, abundant recreational offerings – places we typically characterize as resort environments. These places have brought benefits to many of our rural communities although in some instances have degraded rural econologies.

Prof. Kelly's students and himself work towards understanding how physical design and planning can ameliorate negative impacts on these rural environments.
