Research interests and areas of expertise include integrated financial reporting, non-financial reporting, and the ability to harness advances in technology to make more effective use of organizational data and information. Has published dozens of academic and peer-reviewed scholarly articles focusing on the areas of accounting information systems, sustainability initiatives, and the role that accounting/business can play in the broader market conversation. Has developed a course in ecological economics, and have published several articles on sustainability and accounting. In addition, is quoted and interviewed on both sustainability, sustainable development matters and integrated financial reporting. These areas of research expertise and experience align closely with the proposed fellowship topic of Global Cities for the current academic year. As larger and larger percentages of the global population move to, and live in, cities and other urban centers, it is imperative that the business and broader stakeholder community play a role in sustainable development.
