E. Sharon Brintnell is an accomplished professor of occupational therapy and the director of the OPAU research and services unit at the University of Alberta.
Among her many duties on the OPAU unit, she is responsible for performing functional assessment, overseeing the curriculum and developing the program. She also performs a wide range of pro bono work.
Ms. Brintnell earned a master’s degree in family studies at the University of Alberta and has more than four decades of experience in the occupational therapy field. Prior to her current role with the University of Alberta, she filled a number of key positions with leading organizations, including enjoying a long career as a clinical instructor at a major hospital. A leading figure in the field who has reaped numerous honors and awards during her career, she belongs to a number of professional organizations.
