Although Dr. Marshall is retired, he remains willing to help out with general questions about insect diversity and natural history as appropriate. His research deals primarily with the systematics and phylogeny of flies (Diptera), but he has written extensively about the biology and diversity of the major insect orders (flies, wasps and beetles) and has been involved with several studies of the diversity and natural history of Ontario, especially in parks and protected areas.
