Bio/Research

Desiring a change from his former career as a professional musician, Steve embarked upon an academic career somewhat later in life than most. As such, he has a deep appreciation for the mature student, the concept of lifelong learning, and the educational opportunities a distance learning oriented university like Athabasca can provide.

Dr. Boddington's primary research interests lie in the historical development of education systems in the western world and their influence on notions of childhood. His publications have centered on Canadian historical and educational topics and he is presently co-authoring a book on the history of childhood in the west.
