Dr. Swetter's research interests include primary and secondary prevention of melanoma, including early detection and screening of high-risk groups, melanoma chemoprevention in individuals with atypical mole syndrome and other risk factors, and research focused on increasing professional and public education to improve melanoma awareness and recognition. She is also engaged in clinical studies of the epidemiology, prognostic factors, and therapy of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers at both Stanford and VA Palo Alto.
