Since defending my Ph.D. thesis in 2007, I have had the pleasure of spending a semester at the Universität Trier in Germany as a visiting professor, and to complete a year as a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in Theory and Policy Studies at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. This fellowship enabled me to further my research on questions of access, persistence and student experience in postsecondary education, as well as questions of language policy and planning in educational settings.
My areas of expertise in teaching and research are language planning and policy, curriculum foundations and analysis, teaching and learning in minority language and bilingual settings, higher education and leadership in minority language settings.
