Originally from Brazil, Dr. Tisotti’s research focuses on the pharmacology and cardiopulmonary effects of opioids and anesthetic drugs, anesthesia for critical patients, and loco-regional anesthesia.
His work aims to enhance the care and outcomes for animals undergoing anesthesia.
He teaches at the Surgical Skills, and Anesthesiology and Pharmacology courses to DVM students, and at the anesthesia related courses for the graduate school.
Tisotti completed his veterinary degree at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in 2015, followed by a small animal internship. He completed his anesthesia residency and Doctor of Veterinary Science degree at OVC in 2020, as well as an additional post-doctoral year.
Prior to returning to OVC for a faculty position, Dr. Tisotti worked at VCA Western in Calgary in 2022. He attained his board certification with the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia in 2022.
