My main field is health care history, primarily in regards to the American South, the poor, and African Americans. I have authored two books: Black Physicians in the Jim Crow South and Out in the Rural: A Mississippi Health Center and its War on Poverty, along with numerous articles on African American and health care history. I am currently working on a manuscript on African American prisoners of war.
