Dr. Bai is a Respirologist at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, and a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He is Head of the Respiratory Division at Providence Health Care, Medical Director of the Asthma program at the hospital, and associate Director of the Providence Heart + Lung Institute at St Pauls.
Dr. Bai earned his medical degree from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he also completed graduate studies in physiology and pharmacology. He trained in internal medicine in Wellington, New Zealand and completed training in respiratory medicine at St. Thomas Hospital Medical School in London, England. He was a post doctoral fellow in respiratory research at the Meakins-Christie Laboratory, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Bai is a member of the Canadian asthma guidelines committee, and has been a member of several Federal committees, including the CIHR respiratory committee and the Federal Government Task Force on Asthma. Dr. Bai has authored more than 100 publications focused on airway biology and asthma.
