Bio/Research

Dr. Ugursal is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Dalhousie University. He is also the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research of the Faculty of Engineering, and the director of the Canadian Residential Energy End-use Data and Analysis Centre. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, a MEng in Industrial Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He teaches courses on thermodynamics, heating, ventilating and air-conditioning, energy management, internal combustion engines, and energy conversion. His research and consulting areas include energy conversion systems for electric power and heat generation, building thermal systems, modeling of national energy consumption in the residential sector, and energy management and conservation.
