Bio/Research

Dr. Trudeau's research is directed towards understanding how the vertebrate brain regulates anterior pituitary hormones that control sexual development and reproduction. The team also studies the effects of sex steroids and pollutants (pharmaceuticals, pesticides, methylmercury) on brain function in fish and frogs. This has important implications for environmental and human health because many of the hormonal systems in animals are also found in humans.
