Bio/Research
Dr. Verner J. Knott, B.A., M.A., Ph.D., C. Psych. is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Ottawa. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology Institute of Neuroscience and the Department of Cognitive Science at Carleton University. Following his Ph.D. (1976), which was completed at the University of London and York University (England), he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (1977) in the Psychopharmacology Unit of the University of Guelph (Canada) and then moved to the Royal Ottawa where he received (1979) his psychologist registration (C.Psych.) for the province of Ontario.
At the ROMHC, Dr. Knott is the Director of the Clinical Neuroelectrophysiology and Cognitive Research Laboratory. He is involved in the teaching of psychiatric residents and in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students, and is a member of a number of professional organizations including the Society for Psychophysiological Research, the Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology, the International Society for Neuroimaging in Psychiatry and the EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society.
