Bio/Research

Dr. Victor Ling is the Director of the Interdisciplinary Oncology Program (www.iop.ca) at the University of British Columbia, as well as Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Among his many other involvements, Dr. Victor Ling is the founding President and Scientific Director of the Canada-wide Terry Fox Research Institute (www.tfri.ca). He serves on a variety of cancer-related committees and boards. His research focuses on understanding the mechanism of resistance to anticancer drugs observed in many human cancers. Dr. Victor Ling has received numerous awards for the significance of his research including the General Motors Kettering Prize, Gairdner Foundation International Award, Terry Fox Medal, Order of British Columbia and Order of Canada.
