Bio/Research

The Sossin lab is interested in the biochemical and molecular mechanisms underlying memory formation and maintenance: the molecular memory trace. The lab focuses on the roles of protein kinases, PKC in particular, and the regulation of translation in forming and maintaining the memory trace. Much of this work uses the model system of Aplysia californica, with some work in hippocampal cultures as well.
