Xinning is an environmental microbiologist in the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University. She obtained her B.S. in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University in 2004 and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2010. Her research interests encompass the coupling of biogeochemical cycles through microbial physiology, the impact of microbial metabolism on stable isotope records, co-evolution of microbial life and the geochemical environment, and microbial nutrient acquisition strategies.
