Zi Yan, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Health Sciences, Dr. Zi Yan is an Assistant Professor of Health Sciences. She received her PhD in Exercise and Sport Sciences (Sport and Exercise Psychology concentration) and a concurrent degree of MPH in Health Behavior and Health Promotion from Oregon State University in 2012. She received her MEd in Developmental Kinesiology from Bowling Green State University in 2008. She also obtained the Bachelor degree in Psychology from Beijing Normal University in China. The courses she teaches include Introduction to Public Health, Introduction to Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior and Promotion, and Applied Health Behavior.
Her research interest includes health and physical activity promotion, as well as psycho-social and socio-cultural aspects of health and physical activity. She is originally from Chongqing, China.
